Google’s CR-48 Netbook running Chrome OS Spotted
Finally, the fist netbook running the highly anticipated Chrome OS is out and this one is from Google and it is called the Google CR-48 Chrome OS netbook. It is now shipping the press who were present and the special event.
This is an unbranded netbook which I believe is also used by developers. It sports a decent keyboard, but a few keys seem to be missing, including the function keys and the Caps Lock key. It also has a Qualcomm Gobi modem, a clickable trackpad and 100MB of free 3G data each month with Verizon for the first two years.
According to Google the netbook has a battery life of eight hours and it is powered by a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom processor. It also sports real quick boot time of around 15-18 seconds. Finally, Chrome OS is in the picture and it looks like a bright future for this operating system.
