Lava’s First Windows Phone Handset Goes on Sale at Just $80
Affordable, cheap, entry-level – these are the words that seem to describe the Indian mobile market these days. Android and Windows Phone are coming up with new models almost every day, and now we’re talking about Lava’s fist Windows handset.
The Lava Iris Win 1 with Windows Phone 8.1 has launched at a price of Rs 4,999 ($80), and it has now become officially available for purchase at Indian online retailer Flipkart.
The smartphone features a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) screen, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 CPU, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal memory along with a microSD card slot that can see the storage expanded up to 32 GB.
A 5 MP camera is to be found at the back with LED and a 0.3 MP front camera, as well. The device also comes with an accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensors, along with a 1,950 mAh battery. These are decent specs, considering the super cheap price at which it retails.
The phone has 3G+2G dual-sim abilities and also comes with a Flip Cover and screen guard inside the box. In India, the device will compete with such devices as Nokia Lumia 630 and the Micromax Canvas Win W121.
