Breakthrough Photography Announces new X-Series lineup of Lens Filters

Breakthrough Photography has announced its new X-Series lineup of lens filters. This includes three new types of filters, all of which are ultra-slim measuring between 3.2mm and 3.5mm.

These filters are made with glass from Germany and Japan with advanced coatings and have weather-sealed construction.

The first in the line-up is the X1 which is a standard UV filter with the exception of a much thinner profile compared to other X-Series lenses. Next up the X2 filter which comes with a three or six stop neutral density with UV reduction all in an aluminum frame. Finally, the X3 Traction filter is made with CNC cut brass frame and SCHOTT B270 glass from Germany. This filter is also available in  three and six stops neutral density with UV protection.


All the filters in the X-Series lineup are double-coated, weather-sealed and come with a 25 year guarantee. These are currently available for pre-order on Kickstarter and are expected to ship starting December.

In term of the pricing the X1 UV Standard Flat Black in priced at $25 and will be available in December 2014. The X2 Traction UV will also be available in December 2014 for $39 while the X2 Traction ND in 3-stop or 6-stop will be available in January 2015 for $59. The X3 Traction UV also comes in December for $79 while the X3 Traction ND in 3-stop and 6-stop comes in January for $109.
