BT TV Content Now Available on iPhones, iPads and Android Smartphones and Tablets

BT TV has made its content available on mobile devices through an official companion app for iOS and Android device.  Thebuy-to-own movies platform has been updated so that users can stream or download their purchases to a tablet or smartphone.

BT recently became the first pay-TV company in the UK to allow customers to purchase movies directly through their set-top box and now the company is taking the next step forward. BT customers can link four mobile products to their account, however, each film can only be downloaded to a single device at a time.

What’s really nice is that the downloaded content will remain accessible if the user terminates their BT contract, but they won’t be allowed to redownload movies deleted from their device. BT TV director Alex Green said the following:

BT TV was the first TV platform to offer buy-to-keep movies. Now we’re the first to offer these movies digitally on multiple devices. We believe customers will increasingly choose digital ownership given its freedom and flexibility and the ability to create your own personal movie library.

By using the TV Everywhere service, BT TV customers can also stream television content on their mobile device, as well. So, from now on, with the new BT TV App, consumers who have bought a movie through the YouView or Vision+ services, can download or stream their purchase on their smartphone, tablet or computer.

Movie pricing  ‘starts’ at £3.99 for SD and £5.99 for HD and includes titles such as 12 Years a Slave, Divergent, Despicable Me 2, Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
