Samsung Galaxy J2 Prime vs Samsung Galaxy J3 2016 – Samsung’s Most Affordable Devices
Samsung has been known to dominate both the high end market and the mid ranged one at the same time. It looks like the South Korean based company managed to create devices that fit everyone’s needs. When people hear the name Samsung they think of their flagship Galaxy S devices, but the company has so much to offer and today we will take a look over two of Samsung’s most reliable and affordable devices, the Galaxy J2 Prime and Galaxy J3 2016.
The first thing a customer notices when looking at a brand new device is the display and both devices sport similar displays. The Galaxy J3 2016 has a 5.0 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touch screen display that has a pixel resolution of 720×1280 and 294 PPI, while the Galaxy J2 Prime sports similar 5.0 inch display that also features capacitive touch screen display and has a pixel resolution of 540×960 and 220 PPI. The Galaxy J3 2016 model wins this round because of its higher resolution and bigger screen to body ratio, but it doesn’t defeat the Galaxy J2 Prime by a large margin.
On another note, let’s take a look at the hardware pieces Samsung has installed on both devices. The Galaxy J3 2016 is powered by a quad-core Cortex A7 process that clocks at 1.5GHz and it’s also paired with Mali-400 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM. The device can be acquired in the 16GB/32GB storage space variants. On the other hand, the Galaxy J2 Prime features a quad-core Cortex A53 Mediatek MT6737T processors that clocks at 1.4GHz which is coupled with Mali-T720MP2 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM. Worth mentioning is that both devices can have their memory expanded up to 256GB using a microSD card.
It looks like the two Samsung J series devices come out as equals. There are only small differences in processing powers and storage variants, but other than that there aren’t that many differences.
