Moto X Will Receive Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update
The latest Nougat OS is what every Android user wants right now and in order to keep their customers happy, Motorola officially announced that they will roll out Google’s latest Android Nougat OS update for their Moto G 4 and Moto Z devices. Now rumor has it that Motorola has started prepping the Moto X for the Nougat operating system. The Moto X Play has been spotted on the GFX benchmarking website running Android 7.1.1 Nougat. What’s interesting about this is that Motorola seems to want to skip over the 7.0 version of Nougat OS.
The first Android devices to receive the latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS update is Google’s own Pixel and Pixel XL devices. This doesn’t come as any surprise since Google is in charge of both Android OS and the Pixel brand. The latest version of Nougat is quite important because it brings exciting features such as new app shortcuts which is the equivalent of Apple’s 3D Touch functionality because it allows Android users to tap and select any of the pre-listed apps. Another reason why the latest Nougat update is highly anticipated is because it completely improves the Android device’s multi tasking ability by introducing the split screen functionality.
The Moto X is definitely eligible to receive the latest Nougat update because its equipped with powerful hardware parts. The mobile device is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC processor that’s paired with Adreno GPU. Currently, the device runs on the older Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system but this will soon change.
Motorola has yet to announce when they will roll out the update for Moto X devices, but we can be sure that it will come around the first quarter of 2017. Right now, all Moto X owners can do is pay close attention to their notifications tab just in case Motorola decides to release the update.
