Intex to launch sub Rs.10,000 Android Phone in India

Computer peripherals maker, Intex has announced that they will be a part of the Google Android wagon all the company is all set to announce its very first Android phone in the first week of February 2011. What is exciting about this handset is that it will run Android 2.2 FroYo and it is supposedly priced at Rs. 5,000.

Yet another entry level Android powered comes to India first one being the Android A60 from Micromax. This Intex Android phone has a resistive touchscreen which is a big disappointment. I strongly believe that adding a capacitive touchscreen and selling it between Rs. 7,000 to Rs. 10,000 is exceptional.

So, this phone runs Android 2.2 FroYo, has a 3.2 megapixel camera and 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen among other basic features. Seriously, does it even make sense running Android 2.2 FroYo on such an under powered device?
