Acer to launch low cost Android and Windows 8 tablets in 2013

Acer may not be doing well with Android based smartphones, but the company has been a good competitor in the Android based tablets market. Recent reports suggest that Acer will launch a $99 Android tablet next year.

This tablet will be much affordable than the Asus Nexus 7 and it will feature some decent hardware. This $99 Acer tablet will feature a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels and it will be powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz.

Further Acer is also expected to launch a low cost Windows 8 based tablet device which may not match the $99 price point, but can be one of the most affordable Windows 8 based tablet in the market.

In India we already have quite a few Android based tablets which are priced around $99 but all these devices come from local brands. Hence we hope that Acer brings a quality device in this low cost tablet market.
