Surface Book comes with November 2016 driver update
Microsoft is keen on keeping its Surface Pro 4, Surface Studio and Surface Book up to date in terms of hardware and firmware updates since the devices represent the best Microsoft has to offer. The Surface line has been receiving bad feedback lately regarding its battery and display problems and because of that Microsoft has been trying their hardest to fix these problems as soon as possible. On Thursday they released a new update patch to fix the drivers.
The most recent drivers Microsoft sent to the Surface Book was back on October 28. The update was a major one and it updated all of the devices drivers, including the Wi-Fi driver that’s been updated with new software that is compatible with the Performance Base. The new November drivers are not as impressive as the ones from October, but it’s still a step in the right direction from Microsoft.
The November update focuses mainly on three important sections. The first driver to be optimized is the Surface UEFI which was updated to the version 90.1380.7680 and this new version will improve system stability. The second driver to receive changes is the Intel Precise Touch which will now stop from registering false touches and this is great news since this was the most reported problem. The last driver to be updated is the Nvidia GeForce GPU and this will also improve the stability of the device.
In case you own a compatible device and you didn’t receive the updates don’t worry, since the drivers can be downloaded right now by accessing Settings-Update & Security-Windows Update and confirming the update. All you have to do now is reboot your device and the latest drivers will be installed. You should probably configure your system to download updates automatically so you will not be required to search for them every time.
