Samsung launches Windows 8 tablets and notebooks in India

Samsung Electronics launched a horde of Windows 8-based devices earlier this week. The line-up includes tablets and computers such as ATIV Smart PC and ATIV Smart PC Pro, a touch enabled notebook- Series 5 ULTRA Touch, Series 9 ultrabook and an AMD powered Series 5 ultrabook.

The ATIV Smart PCs are essentially 11.6 inch tablets which come with a detachable keyboard which transform it into a notebook. ATIV Smart PC Pro is powered with an Intel Core i5 processor whereas ATIV Smart PC is powered by Intel Atom Z2760 processor. The ATIV Smart PC Pro is priced at Rs 75,490 and the ATIV Smart PC is priced at Rs 53,990.

The Notebook Series 5 ULTRA Touch is Samsung’s first touch enabled ultrabook which packs a 13.3 inch HD 10-finger multi-touchscreen and is powered by third generation Intel Core processor, with up to 12GB of RAM, 500 GB of storage and 24GB ExpressCache system all for Rs. 64,990. The Series 5 ultrabook is a variant with an AMD quad-core processor costing Rs. 43,990.

Samsung’s Notebook Series 9 has a single shell body with a 15-inch screen. The Series 9 measures 14.9mm in thickness and weighs 1.65kg and is priced at Rs 107,990.
