Samsung, Google and Nexus Devices Receives Android Nougat 7.0


The first batch of Android 7.0 Nougat updates that Google rolled out for their own Nexus devices was back in August, and since then Google has been working on releasing the new operating system on all its Nexus devices. Google stated in an official blog post that over time they will roll out the Android 7.0 Nougat OS to all compatible Android devices.

We have analyzed all reports from Google that mentioned when different mobile devices will receive the Android 7.0 Nougat OS update and compiled them into a list so you can find out when your own device is going receive the highly expected update.

  • Nexus

The Android 7.1 beta program has been started back in October and Nexus owners that signed up in the beta program have already got their hands on the Nougat OS. Google also confirmed that the Nexus Player, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6 and Nexus 6P are going to receive over the air updates as soon as the OS gets out of its development phase.

  • HTC

Three of HTC devices are going to receive Android Nougat before November 2016 ends. The devices are HTC One M9, HTC 10 and HTC One A9.

  • OnePlus

The Chinese manufacturer has moved quick and already released the beta version of Android Nougat back in August 2016. OnePlus owners will receive the official Nougat update in the first quarter of 2017.

  • Sony Xperia

Sony has posted on their official blog that they are currently working on developing the operating system for the following devices: Xperia XZ & Xperia X Compact, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z5, Xperia XZ and Xperia X performance.

  • LG

LG will roll out the first Nougat OS update to their LG V20 in late November 2016 and the next devices to also receive the update are LG G5 and LG G4.

  • Huawei

Huawei’s Honor line of products will receive their update during 2017 while Huawei Mate 9 comes with Android Nougat straight out the box.

  • Samsung

Samsung launched their Galaxy Beta Program in the UK and South Korea, and users that joined the beta program have received the Nougat update already.
