Microsoft says Skype will replace Windows Live Messenger in 2013
In the past few weeks we have already heard about Skype eventually replacing the now (somewhat) obsolete Windows Live Messenger service. Microsoft, has now officially confirmed that Windows Live Messenger will indeed be replaced by Skype as the prime messaging service sometime in the year 2013.
Microsoft will integrate its over 100 million Windows Live Messenger users to Skype as part of the migration process. The company is also encouraging users to download the latest version of Skype which will allow users to unify their Skype and Messenger accounts into one Microsoft account. The new version of Skype will also assist users in the transition from Windows Live Messenger in the coming months.
