Blinkbox Now Allows its Customers to Download Movies for Offline Viewing, Takes on Sky Go
A really cool new feature will be rolling out to blinkbox Movies customers. The will be able to download movies and TV shows to iPad and Android tablets for offline viewing. This has been one of the most requested features by users and now it will finally make its way.
Blinkbox co-founder and CEO Adrian Letts said the following recently:
The ability to watch offline on tablets is one of the most frequently requested features and will transform the way many customers use blinkbox – whether that’s by allowing more freedom to watch what they want in the home – or taking their entertainment on the move.
By using the new ‘Watch Offline’ feature, Blinkbox customers will be able to download movies and TV shows bought on blinkbox to up to five devices and rented films to one tablet. Blinkbox has boosted its range of titles, as well, after signing a major deal with Entertainment Film Distributors. The CEO added some more details, saying that this new feature is just in time for Christmas:
I am pleased that we have been able to introduce download to tablet in time for the Christmas holidays so those who want to sneak off to bed, the pub or even another country can download a movie or their latest box set obsession and take it with them to enjoy without a connection.
The blinkbox services are pre-installed with Tesco’s latest hudl tablet, as well. This new service is a great move from the UK retailer to increase sales of this new tablet. But you can go ahead and download the official app on your iPad and Android tablets, as well.
If you have used blinkbox before, then can you tell us what you think of this new feature? For one, I think it’s really great to be able to take your movies wherever you go. And this could prove to be just one more take on rival services like Sky Go.
