OnePlus Enters Indian Market with Help From Amazon.in, Keeps Invite System
Chinese company OnePlus is enjoying tremendous growth for the past few months. The company has showed that it can master not just the supply chain to obtain an affordable price for great specs but also that it knows how to make great use of social media.
The OnePlus One is widely regarded as the biggest challenger to top-notch devices, mainly because it offers consumers impressive technical specifications at a really affordable price. And now it seems that the handset will become available to Indian customers, through the online retailer Amazon.in.
The OnePlus One will be sold exclusively on Amazon.in and it will be officially announced on December 2nd at an event in New Delhi. The official pricing hasn’t been revealed at the moment, but this too is said to happen next week on Tuesday.
The OnePlus One was launched globally in April this year, but India is said to be the first market where OnePlus is partnering with a local partner. One Plus will have a dedicated team for the Indian market, as well, which is the first time when this happens outside Hong Kong.
However, as always,buying a OnePlus One phone won’t be that easy, but there will be an India specific invite system. Customers can log onto Amazon.in page or oneplus.net/in and express their interest for an invite. There are around 1000 invites that will be awarded before December 2.
As we have previously reported, the smartphone is expected to be priced for less than Rs.25,000 for the 64GB version. The official Amazon page only mentions only about ‘Sandstone Black’, so this is more proof that just the 64 GB version will go on sale.
The smartphone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat based Cyanogen OS. OnePlus One features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080p) display, d is powered by the latest 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor and Adreno 330 GPU. There’s a 3GB LPDDR3 RAM, along with a 13MP shooter on the rear and 5MP snapper on the front.
