BlackBerry announces Porsche-designed P’9982 premium smartphone
This smartphone showed up online in the past couple of months and now the Canadian company has officially announced its new premium smartphone. It will be available globally in select stores from this day. It is the new Porsche edition, BlackBerry smartphone which will also come in a limited-edition Crocodile model later this year in December.
The smartphone is called the BlackBerry P’9982 which in terms of the specifications is similar to the BlackBerry Z10. It sports a 4.2-inch display with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels and it will be powered by a dual-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz along with 2GB of RAM.
This Porsche Edition smartphone will include additional in-built storage capacity of 64GB which can be further expanded using a microSD card. It will also sport an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 2 megapixel front facing camera and a 1,800 mAh battery which is rated to provide a talk time of 8 hours and 10 days on battery on standby.
In terms of the connectivity it includes support for LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi and NFC. In terms of the software it will run a customized version of BB 10.2 OS and includes features like BlackBerry priority and BBM video. Customers will get a unique BBM PIN which will make users of this smartphone instantly recognizable.
Design-wise the BlackBerry P’9982 sports Italian leather and stainless steel to give it an ultra-premium look. It has been designed by Porsche designers, and BlackBerry offers multiple colored Italian leather backs for further customization.
The exact price for the smartphone will soon be announced which is expected to be around $2,250 which translates to Rs. 140,800 approximately.
