Nokia Refocus app now available for download

Nokia recently announced its Nokia Refocus app for Lumia smartphones last month and it has now released the application for its Windows Phone smartphones which feature its PureView camera technology.

This applications works by taking 8 images, each at 5 megapixels resolution and all these photos are at a different focus. It then combines them to make one image and enables the users to refocus at any part of the image simply by tapping on the screen.

Nokia Refocus is designed for scenes with a great contrast in the depth of field, like macro shots. Here’s how you use it.

First focus on the object that’s the closest to you, and as you look through the viewfinder with your camera, it will look blurry. However, move the camera closer to the object and everything becomes clear. This is to help you know how close you can go before you take the shot.

The Nokia Refocus app is compatible with the Nokia Lumia 920, Lumia 925, Lumia 928 and Lumia 1020 smartphones. The app will also work with the upcoming Nokia Lumia 1520 smartphone.
