S Huawei Ascend Y100 entry-level Android now avialable, priced Rs. 5,990
In partnership with Spice Mobiles, Huawei has now launched its Ascend Y100 Android smartphone in the Indian market. This not the most well-equipped smartphone in the market, but it is priced at a low Rs. 5,990.
This is an Android 2.3 Gingerbread based smartphone which has a 2.8-inch (320×240 pixels) TFT capacitive touchscreen display. The screen size is small when compared to most of the new offerings in this price segment. Moving on, it is powered by an 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and features a 3.2 megapixel fixed focus camera on the back. The Ascend Y100 supports 3G connectivity along with Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 and GPS/aGPS. It has a 1050 mAh battery which is rated to provide up to 300 hours of standby and up to 300 minutes of talk time.
This smartphone is up for grabs with online retailer Saholic for Rs. 5,990. Furthermore, Airtel users will get 500MB of free 3G data for 1 month, while Aircel users will get 1GB of free 3G data for the first 3 months.
