OnePlus 3 and 3T Beta Testers Receive Access to Android 8.0 Oreo
OnePlus 3 owners have been waiting for Android 8.0 Oreo to arrive for a while now. The major operating system update was released in a closed beta program a month ago but now, the program is finally available in the open beta program as well. According to News4c, OnePlus 3 and 3T owners who are enlisted as beta testers can download Android 8.0 Oreo.
Android 8.0 Oreo
This is Google’s latest operating system update and it contains a handful of cool features and visually redesigned panels such as the Settings menu. The update also makes multitasking so much easier than it ever was since it includes the Picture in Picture mode. As its name implies, this mode gives users the ability to open different apps at the same time.
OnePlus 3 and 3T Open Beta Program
As of now, the new operating system can only be downloaded by beta users. The update is quite large, weighing in at 1.4GB. However, this was to be expected when considering how many features it contains. Nonetheless, OnePlus 3 and 3T owners will be required to flash the operating system because it is not being rolled out OTA (over the air).
While Android 8.0 Oreo arrival in the beta program might be great news for OnePlus 3 and 3T owners, the operating system is still in the beta phase. This means that there are some issues with it and that it will not be rolled to the wide public until they are taken care of.
One of these known issues is causing OnePlus 3 and 3T’s fingerprint sensor to lag. Therefore, unlocking the smartphone with the fingerprint will be slower than usual. Moreover, the shortcut for Google Photos is not available yet. We should also mention that NFC and Bluetooth connections are unstable right now.
