Nokia 6 owners should be happy to know that HMD Global started rolling out Android 7.1.2 Nougat to them. Things get even better since this major update also includes October’s security patches. The update weighs in at 664MB and its being rolled out OTA (over the air). Therefore, Nokia 6 owners should keep their eyes peeled at their notification panel since the update is going to arrive anytime now.
Android 7.1.2 Nougat
Considering the fact that this new update is quite large in size, no one should be surprised to find out that it contains a bunch of cool features, bug fixes and performance enhancing tweaks. The first thing that Nokia 6 owners are going to notice is that their fingerprint sensor will not lag anymore and it will unlock the smartphone instantly.
It seems like HMD Global is paying close attention to its customer feedback since Nokia 6 has been long plagued by an annoying audio issue and this new update gets rid of it. With that said, Nokia 6’s audio will not crack anymore when listening to songs at high volume.
Another important bug fix that Android 7.1.2 Nougat brings takes care of the pink banding issue which appeared when Nokia 6 owners tried to take pictures. This issue was quite serious and it’s great to see that HMD Global managed to fix it in such a quick period of time.
October’s Security Patch
While Android 7.1.2 Nougat bring a handful of goodies in form of features and bug fixes, it also contains October’s security patch. Google puts a high price on user security and this is why it rolls out a new patch every month. The internet is filled with malware and these monthly patches are specially designed to keep Android users safe. Now that we went over the key features that this update brings, we advise Nokia 6 owners to free up 664MB and to download it as soon as possible.
