Gran Turismo Sport is Not Fun in Offline Mode
The highly anticipated Gran Turismo Sport has arrived yesterday (October 17th) and fans can finally test it out. The game can be played on PlayStation 4 and it is the seventh installment in the long-lasting Gran Turismo franchise. Worth noting is that Gran Turismo is the most popular race themed game franchise in the world which says something about the quality of games it offers.
Offline Mode Issues
We need to mention that even though the game was officially launched yesterday, there are numerous people who received the game in advance to write reviews and they tested it out. While Gran Turismo Sport is indeed a fun game to play, there is a big downside to it. There’s barely anything to do in offline mode.
What’s interesting is that Sony actually warned everyone that Gran Turismo Sport fans need to have a stable internet connection if they want to enjoy the game. Sony stated the following: “In order to ensure fair racing for all, GT Sport will require an internet connection for the majority of functionality. This connectivity requirement is to ensure that progress, car availability, and driver ratings are properly maintained at all times”.
Everyone who owns a computer or game console probably also has a stable internet connection. However, the issue comes from Sony since the serves have crashed more than once thus leaving players with nothing to do. Although, this issue can be blamed on the fact that the game has just been launched and Sony is still optimizing the servers.
On the bright side though, Gran Turismo Sport fans can always enjoy the Arcade mode while offline. This mode allows players to race against AI in time trials, drift trials and even get a feel for the limited VR mode. However, Gran Turismo Sport fans first need to unlock maps in online mode before being able to access them through Arcade.
