Android 5.0 Lollipop for Moto X, Moto G, Moto E and Droid Smartphones Confirmed!
The release of the newest iPads was supposed to be the biggest tech news these days, but Google did all it could to spoil the fun by announcing the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop software update and the newest Nexus smartphone and tablet.
It seems that Android L 5.0 isn’t yet ready for the official release, this also being the reason why Google has decided not to hold a separate launch event, but rather opted for a silent launch.
The Motorola team said the following on its blog recently:
“Once Android 5.0 L is officially released, we intend to bring this latest upgrade to many of our other Motorola devices, as well. This includes Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen), Moto G (1st and 2nd Gen), Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx and Droid Mini.
We’re still working out the details on timing and the upgrade depends on our partners’ support so stay tuned to our software upgrades page for the latest and greatest.”
So, as we can see, the latest Android L (5.0 Lollipop) for Moto X, Moto G, Moto E and other models has been confirmed by Motorola, which is great news.
Albeit the official release date hasn’t been disclosed, it should be in the coming weeks. Motorola was the first OEM to upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat back in November last year, within just 3 weeks of official announcement.
On the official web page for software support, Motorola says the following:
“The next generation of Android – Android 5.0 Lollipop – is in development. Once it is officially released we will be working with our technology and carrier partners to bring it to you.”
You can select on that page the carrier or the retailer from where you bought the phone and then select the exact model to see when is Android Lollipop coming to you.
