Nvidia Shield Tablet Will Get Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Soon

I’ll be honest with you, the Nvidia Shield Tablet is one of the gadgets that I’d definitely spend some cash on, as it comes with some impressive specs for casual gamers, just like me. And I’m always receptive and interested about new updates and news concerning it.

And the good news is that Nvidia recently announced that the Shield Tablet will be updated to the recently unveiled Android 5.0 Lollipop. So, you won’t have to wait for too long and look with envy at those who have it already running. Nvidia published a short tweet, saying the following:

“Android 5.0 Lollipop and more is coming to NVIDIA SHIELD tablet.”

However, Nvidia did not announce an exact release date for Android 5.0 Lollipop, but it did say that the Shield Tablet is ‘ready’ for it, so this means we could see it coming any time now. Let’s have another look at its specs, just in case you forgot them:

  • 32-bit Nvidia Tegra K1 2.2 Ghz chipset
  • 2GB of RAM
  • 8-inch 1920×1200 multi-touch Full HD display
  • Front facing stereo speakers, dual bass reflex port with built-in microphone

  1. I’ve heard that rooting is gonna be even more of a challenge with Lollipop, so I’ll wait until that gets figured out. But yeah, in general, I’m excited about the update.
