OnePlus One Software UPDATED: Here’s What’s New

Most of us own a smartphone, and with updates we get some minor fixes, improved stability, and sometimes a new features, and if you are an owner of OnePlus One smartphone, you should know that new firmware update has been released for this smartphone.

Pre-orders for the device are currently not available anymore, but maybe you get lucky with an invite. At this price and specs, the OnePlus is a one of its kind device.


If you’re not familiar with OnePlus One, it’s an amazing phone with powerful hardware specs and $300 price tag. This phone comes with 5.5-inch 401 ppi FullHD display with Gorilla Glass 3, and it’s powered by Snapdragon 801 processor.

Additional specs include 3GB RAM and 16GB of storage space, but there is also a 64GB model available. Sadly, there’s no microSD card support available. Additional features include 3,100 mAh battery, 5-megapixel front camera, and f/2.0 13 MP Sony Exmor IMX 214 sensor on the back.

We also have to mention that back camera supports 4K video recording and it comes with Dual-LED flash.

OnePlus One supports LTE and NFC, and it runs on CyanogenMod 11S based on Android 4.4. As you can see, this is already an amazing smartphone and with the latest firmware update it got even better.

This update improves the responsiveness of the touchscreen, it adds a new lockscreen and ability to take photos in RAW format.

There are some audio improvements as well, and now you can play high resolution music, 24 bit 96/192khz flac/alac/wav files, without resampling. Battery life has been improved and issues with ‘4G Preferred’ option not connecting to 3G data have been fixed.

Users can now pause during video recording thanks to the newly added pause button, and issues regarding camera exposure compensation stuck in ‘auto’ have been resolved.

With the new update users won’t get static in speaker when changing volume while their headset is plugged in. In addition, issues with unresponsive screen have been fixed, so you won’t have to reboot your phone, and delay with torch is now fixed.

Rotation is now fixed, the screen will rotate even if you rotate your device slowly, and camera will start properly now even if LED torch is already on. Issues with Quiet Hours / system UI battery drain as well Bluetooth volume low on connection are fixed.

This is a great update for a great phone, and as for the availability, the firmware update is already available for download.
