Evolve Release Date for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC Set, Here’s When it Launches
Many fans of good shooter games were excited about the release of the upcoming co-op shooter, Evolve. Unfortunately, publisher of Evolve, 2K games, decided to push back the release of the game for the next year, and here are some reasons why 2K decided to do that.
2K games had delayed the release of Evolve, the upcoming co-op shooter game from Turtle Rock Studios, the developer of Left 4 Dead. The game that has been originally scheduled for October 21 release will be released on February 10, 2015.
People from Take-Two entertainment said that they decided to delay the release of Evolve in order to provide some additional time to Turtle rock to polish the game.
“We are encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive response from press and fans, and believe by extending development by a few months, it will allow the team enough time to fully realize their creative vision for Evolve,” president Karl Slatoff said.
When answering further questions about the delay of the game, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said that the company has always benefited from giving the development team more time to polish the game, and that they’ve never regretted it.
He also mentioned some other possible benefits of the delay, describing February as a “pretty terrific release window. It’s not at all crowded, and we will benefit from the fact that there are a lot of holiday sales of consoles so the install base will be bigger.”
Evolve is set on Shear, a distant planet in the distant future that humans are trying to colonize. The colonies are soon attacked by violent alien ‘Monsters’, who want to fight their territory back form humans.
As the Monsters trying to fight the invaders, a team of elite Hunters, including war veterans, psychopaths, professionals, and expendables, attempts to eliminate the Monsters, setting the main battle of Evolve.
2k Games claims that Evolve will be the “defining” game for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 of this year, but it looks like that won’t happen. The game won the top prize at the E3 2014 Game Critics Award and was one of numerous releases scheduled for this October.
Evolve will be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC, but there are no news about the release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
