BlackBerry has announced launch details BBM for Android and iPhone

After three long years, BlackBerry has finally launched its famous BBM service for Android and iPhone devices. However, this is a scheduled launched due to the complications BlackBerry had with the previous roll-out of BBM for Android.

This certainly is too late for the company to bring this key service to other platforms as there already exist some great alternatives and most of the users seem quite satisfied with them.

BlackBerry has now announced details for the launch of its messaging service which will soon go cross platform as it arrives on Android and iPhone. Users will have already been able to download the apps from Monday, however they wont be able to use the service right away. Instead, users will enter a queue and will be able to login and start using the app once BlackBerry adds them to their service.

The process is quite simple;

  1. Download BBM – the easiest way is to visit from your Android or iPhone browser.
  2. Once you install the app, open it, and enter your email address to hold your spot in line.
  3. They will email you as soon as you reach the front of the line and can start using BBM.

So let us see how well is this famous messaging platform is accepted by Android and iPhone users. Will you move to BBM or will you stick to your existing messaging service like WhatsApp, Line or whatever it is you use?

  1. “After three long years” of what? BBM has been around much longer than 3 years.

    I use the real BBM on a real BB10, but its good to have a few of my iPhone / Android friends back on my buddy list in the last few days! It’s not “certainly is too late” at all, BBM is SO much better than the other IM services. I’ve used them all, and they pale in comparison.
