Apple finally announces the new Mac Pro, priced at 2,999 USD

The Cupertino based company launched yet another OS X based device at its latest event, and this is the all new and redesigned Mac Pro. The company had first announced this new Mac Pro earlier at WWDC 2013 and does have a major design overhaul.

This Mac Pro features improved graphics, processing power, battery and memory. It will be powered by the new generation Intel Xeon E5 processors with up to 12 usable cores for processing power. Also it now features an all new cylindrical chassis design, weighing 1/8 times less than the previous generation.

Apart form the quad-core Intel Xeon processor for the base model, the 2013 Mac Pro will also include 12GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD and dual-D300 graphics. It will further includes six Thunderbolt ports, dual gigabit Ethernet ports and four USB 3.0 ports. This mean machine will be able to edit 4k resolution videos while rendering effects int he background.

It will also available in 6-core, 8-core and 12-core variants with consumers getting an option of storage space up to 1TB of SSD.

The base model which includes a quad-core processor will be priced at 2,999 USD and Apple says that the system will be available for purchase later this year, probably just in time before the holidays.

Along with the 2013-edition Mac Pro, Apple has also launched the new OS X Mavericks and the two new variants of the MacBook Pro which come with Retina Display.
