Apple MacBook Pro powered by Intel Haswell and with Retina Display launched

At its new event where the company announced the availability of the new OS X Mavericks, the Cupertino based company also launched the new MacBook Pro 13-inch and 15-inch variants which now come equipped with a Retina Display.

The MacBook Pro Retina Display 13-inch is lighter and thinner than the previous generation model, it weighs at 3.46 pounds and is 0.71-inches thick. It is powered by the new Intel Haswell processor and Apple claims it can provide a battery life of up to 9 hours of video playback.

It also supports Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and Thunderbolt 2 connectivity options. The base version will come with a minimum of 4GB RAM, 128GB SSD and the pricing will start at $1,299 which is $200 cheaper than the base version of the previous generation model.

The MacBook Pro Retina Display 15-inch comes equipped with a 2GHz quad-core Intel i7 (Crystalwell) processor along with Iris Pro. It includes 8Gb of RAM and a 256GB SS on the base model. The battery is rated to provide continuous video playback of 8 hours and it is priced at $1,999 which is again $200 cheaper than the previous generation.
