Google Chromebooks coming to India on October 17

Google has made it official, about two years after unveiling the very first Chromebook, these devices will finally be available for purchase in India. These will start selling in India from October 17, and in short, Chromebook is Google’s take on laptops and these come pre-loaded with Chrome OS.

A recent post on the Google India blog, revealed the availability of two new Chromebooks in India, starting October 17. The two include the Intel Haswell powered Acer C720 while the other is the HP Chromebook 14. Both these devices run the Chrome OS by Google and should provide a new alternative for consumers in India.

Google says, Chromebooks are easier to use than traditional computers, and the boot up in seconds. The automatically stay up-to-date and users don’t need any security updates, anti-virus or malware protection. The come with a bunch of apps which can be accessed via the Chrome Web Store and include 100GB of free Google Cloud Storage for the first two years.

Those interested in buying either of the Chromebooks can visit this link. The Acer C720 is priced at 22,999 INR and the HP Chromebook 14 is priced at 26,990. Both will be available from Reliance Digital and Croma Retail stores in Delhi and Mumbai. One can also pre-order them online from Flipkart.
