Samsung Galaxy S8 vs LG V30 – Which One Takes the Cake?
This year has been a great one for smartphone fans. Almost major tech company such Apple, Samsung and LG refreshed their smartphone lineup with high-end bezel less devices. However, the two most powerful smartphones to come out this year are certainly Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 and LG’s V30. Both devices are coming from South Korea and they’re competing against each other on a daily basis. With that said, let’s take a look under their hoods and see which one has the upper hand.
Bezel Less Displays
Bezel less smartphones are taking over the world and this can be clearly seen in LG V30 and Galaxy Note 8’s design. Both smartphones ship with edge to edge panels, but there are some differences between them. First off, Galaxy Note 8 is equipped with a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED panel while LG V30 ships with a slightly smaller 6-inch P-OLED display. While both smartphones are close equals in this department, Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology gives it an edge over LG V30.
Dual Camera Setup
Another major hardware innovation that this year’s smartphones have been featuring are dual camera setups. Smartphones are slowly but surely becoming more camera centric than ever and we shouldn’t be surprised to find out that dual camera setups will become the norm for every smartphone in the upcoming future.
Nonetheless, just like in the display department, both smartphones ship with a rear mounted dual camera setup. Galaxy S8 features a 12MP+12MP setup while LG V30’s setup is made from a 16MP + 13MP wide angle camera.
It’s safe to say that both smartphones are impressive in these two feature departments. However, Galaxy Note 8 has the upper hand in both of them. The display is larger and it uses Super AMOLED technology while in the camera department, Galaxy S8 wins because it features bigger sensors.
