Nexus 6P Will Receive Android 8.0 Oreo on September 11th in Canada
We think it’s safe to say that Nexus 6P owners are excited about Google’s latest Android 8.0 Oreo. Nexus 6P is known for being a sturdy, reliable and high-end smartphone and the new operating system will make it even better. The Android parent already started rolling out its latest software update to Pixel and Pixel XL and now, Nexus 6P is next in line.
Nexus 6P to Receive Android 8.0 Oreo on September 11th
The reason we strongly believe that Nexus 6P is scheduled to receive Android 8.0 Oreo on September 11th is because the Canadian cell carrier Rogers confirmed that. Cell carriers receive all of Google’s operating system ahead of time so that they can test it before rolling out. While smartphone owners might not like waiting for Android 8.0 Oreo to arrive to their smartphones, this process is quite necessary. Cell carriers make sure that the operating system doesn’t feature any unwanted bugs and in some cases, they even add their own updates to it.
Worldwide Roll Out
Sadly, we can’t know when other cell carriers are going to start rolling out the update. Even though Rogers is already done testing it, there’s no way to tell when the likes of Verizon, AT&T and Sprint will be done with it. On the bright side though, Nexus 6P owners can be sure that they will receive Android 8.0 Oreo even though it might not be at the same time as people who purchased their device from Rogers.
Android 8.0 Oreo Essential Features
The upcoming operating system has been packed with a bunch of features but two of the most anticipated ones are the picture-in-picture mode and the new emojis. Nexus 6P owners should be happy to know that their smartphone’s multitasking abilities will be enhanced and that they are going to be able to run two apps at the same time. When it comes to emojis, Android 8.0 Oreo will feature 60 newly redesigned smiley faces.
