Nexus 6P to Receive Android 8.0 Oreo on September 11
Nexus 6P used to be known as Google’s flagship smartphone. However, things took a sudden turn when Pixel and Pixel were launched. Even though Pixel took Nexus 6P’s flagship title, this doesn’t mean that Nexus 6P didn’t keep its privileges. Therefore, Nexus 6P will be among the first smartphones to get access to Google’s latest Android 8.0 Oreo operating system.
Android 8.0 Oreo
Google has made it a tradition to release a new operating system every year and to name them after delicious sweets. This year’s operating system comes under the Oreo codename and it has been unveiled a couple of days ago. In fact, Android 8.0 Oreo already started rolling out to Google’s own Pixel and Pixel XL handsets. Now that both Pixel and Pixel XL are running on Google’s latest operating system, Nexus 6P is next in line.
Nexus 6P to Receive Android 8.0 Oreo
The question that’s sitting in every Nexus 6P owner’s mind is when is Android 8.0 Oreo going to arrive? Fortunately, the Canadian cell carrier known as Rogers confirmed that it will start rolling it out on September 11th. Although, we need to mention that only Canadian residents are entitled to this update and that other regions of the world will still have to wait until their carriers are done with the testing process.
Even though Android 8.0 Oreo is already in a final build, carriers still need to test it out. This way, they avoid unnecessary bugs and glitches. In addition, some carriers also add their personal tweaks and updates which enhance the operating system even further. Nonetheless, taking in consideration the fact that Rogers will start rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo to Nexus 6P on September 11th, we can be sure that other carriers are going to follow the same pattern.
