Google APK Code Reveals Innovative Pixel 2 Feature
Nearly every major tech company refreshed its smartphone flagship offering this year. However, this doesn’t seem to affect Google at all since the Android parent is taking its time with Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. The two smartphones are scheduled to come out on October 4th, as tipped by Google itself. Although, the reason we are talking about them today is because Google’s App APK revealed an innovative Pixel 2 feature.
Even though Pixel 2 is being directly managed by Google and it will hold the tile of being its flagship, HTC is also involved in Pixel 2’s manufacturing process. A while ago, some rumors were pointing out that HTC wants to equip Pixel 2 with a squeeze feature that’s similar to HTC U11’s Edge Sense. This feature will basically give Pixel 2 owners the ability to squeeze their smartphones and start up different applications such as the camera or even Google Assistant for example.
Another interesting thing that’s been discovered in Google’s App APK is the fact that Google Assistant is set to receive a new feature. The feature in cause is called Routines and it makes it possible for Google Assistant to start multi-action initiation. This will certainly boost Google Assistant’s multi-tasking capabilities to the next level.
As previously mentioned, Pixel 2 and its larger variant are expected to be unveiled on October 4th. While this might seem confusing since last year’s Pixel lineup was unveiled on October 5th, Google is the one who put up a huge billboard in Boston which shows that October 4th is the actual release date.
Nonetheless, Pixel 2 will ship with a 5.0-inch AMOLED panel that will be covered in Corning Gorilla Glass 5. In terms of power, Pixel will be fueled by none other than Qualcomm’s latest octa-core Snapdragon 835 CPU. The processor will also be coupled to an Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
