Android 2.2 Froyo finally comes to Motorola Droid X

The Motorola Droid X is finally getting the highly anticipated Android 2.2 Froyo Update. The latest 2.2.15.en.US update will brings some great features to the Droid X including Bluetooth Voice Dialing, Flash Support, updated 3G mobile Hotspot application, improved screen rotation and a lot of other minor bug fixes. Overall you Droid X will be much better performing.

Motorola had already revealed plans about software updates for their  Android devices and now that it has finally here Droid X users will see great improvements on their device. The update will be available over-the-air in the next few days. Once available you will receive a notification for the update and you simply have to follow the instructions to get your device updated.

If you are really impatient, and can’t wait for the OTA then you can manually update your phone from the About Phone menu in the Settings. Also, if you have already installed the Android 2.2 ROM on your Droid X and you now want to get the official one, you will have to roll back your device to Android 2.1 and then you will be able to receive the update.
