Viber App for iPhone, iPad Updated to Version 5.0, Here are the New Features
Viber is known all across the world, being used by a huge number of users on their smartphones and tablets in order to call for free and avoid using cellular networks. Recently, it has received an important update for iPhone and iPad owners.
Recently, Viber for iPhone and iPad owners has been bumped to version 5.0, bringing a good number of interesting new features. Most of them have been directly requested by iOS users, so it’s nice to see that the company is listening to feedback.
First of all, you can now make video calls from your iPhone to other Viber contacts on mobile or Desktop. You can also transfer video calls between mobile and Desktop, as well.
The latest update lets you add friends easily by entering their Viber number or scanning their QR code. It’s really cool that you can now manage sticker packs, and turn packs on/off and reorder packs.
Another new feature is the ability to easily forward photos and video messages. A number of other minor improvements has been released and many bugs have been squashed.
Overall, iOS users are very pleased with the update, giving it an overall rating of 4.5 stars out of 5. Here’s what users Michael London is saying:
“Viber has improved so much from when I first came across it. In a relatively short space of time it has added the call out feature to any number, video chat and gathered the best database of stickers! And I dare say, the video chat has worked for me even more reliably than Skype.
Viber was a bit frustrating at first because I found the call quality decreased as your call went on. But I do believe that Viber has kept on improving and this is an absolutely solid competitor that is fastt becoming superior to the traditional communications media!”
While many of the recent reviews are praising the latest improvements, there are some that point to flaws, as well:
“I enjoyed this app very much and have used it everyday for months now. Having said that the latest update has a couple of flaws that need to be fixed. First one is the when talking with someone it sometimes causes the other person voice to turn into a loud high pitch sound, almost like a child screaming into a microphone.
This tends to last for about 5 to 10 sec each time it happen to me. Second thing is a lot of times when I exit the Viber app then go back into the app later it glitches on my screen which causes the text messaging screen to scroll up through old texts and I have to then scroll back down to the most recent. Please look into these items! Other than that I’m happy with the product..”
