Windows Phone 8.1.1 Preview RELEASED, But Only for Developers
Microsoft said that the new Windows Phone 8.1.1 Preview for Developer’s update would fix some some annoying glitches present in the Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview. The latest version is now available for download but only for developers.
The latest Windows Phone 8.1.1 Developer Preview software version is now available for download; with the highlight of build 8.10.14176 being the remedy to the 80188308 error bug.
This is popular for having prompted quite a few storage malfunctions resulting in the running out of storage space in the system partition during the update.
Those still receiving the impugned error on a Nokia Lumia smartphone should reset the device with the aid of Nokia Software Recovery Tool. Let us know by leaving your comment below if you’re still getting these errors after downloading the Windows Phone 8.1.1 Developer Preview.
Microsoft also said that the 14176 update should fix the above mentioned problem, and those who have not been able to install the Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers update can still make the update to the latest version of the software.
Also, users of Windows Phone 8.1 smartphones that come equipped with a relatively lower storage capacity might be causing storage problems, as well. If this happens, then users could unclutter their device by uninstalling some apps and games, or by deleting pictures/videos, and creating more space.
Build 8.10.14176 will provide “a bunch of performance improvements and general fixes,” but additional details about the update have not yet been disclosed.
As WpCentral has recently informed, HTC devices are now eligible for the Preview updates, including the HTC 8X and HTC 8XT. Here’s what else Microsoft said on its official blog:
“For those of you participating in our Windows Phone Preview for Developers, we’ve got some good news as today we’ll begin delivery of an update that will make more new software available to more of you.”
“Build 8.10.14176 starts rolling today to developer preview participants, and provides a bunch of performance improvements and general fixes. One of the important fixes addresses an issue some folks were seeing during the update process – the 80188308 error – which resulted from running out of storage space in the system partition during update. We expect this fix to solve the update issue for most users.”
“If you have a Nokia Lumia device and are still running into this error with the latest update, you can use the Nokia Software Recovery tool to reset your device. Or, if you are on a phone with lower storage capacity you may also see an out of storage error that is different than the one above. Please follow the Make room on my phone to update it article.”
Some of the most recent Windows Phone smartphones getting the Windows Phone 8.1.1 update are HTC One for Windows, the AT&T Lumia 920 and Lumia 925; the Lumia 720 and Lumia 920s and the Nokia Lumia 1520. However, the availability of the update ranges from country and carrier, so it’s not something sure.
