Nokia Lumia 930 Gets Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, Brings Cortana in UK and China

The official Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 brings many new useful features, but not all Windows Phone 8.1 devices have received it. Now Nokia Lumia 930 owners can rejoice as the latest software is being rolling out.

Microsoft has just announced the rollout of a new minor update for the Windows Phone 8.1 based Nokia Lumia 930. To get it yourself, you need to follow this secure link from the official website.

The latest software release for Nokia Lumia 930 is Lumia Cyan and goes under the codename 02061.00066.14353.31xxx. However, not all Nokia Lumia 930 will receive the update at the same time, so you are advised to go ahead and download it yourself, in order not to be dependent on the availability in your country or carrier.

Microsoft says this is a minor update, but there are some new features that are quite important for users, especially the appearance of Cortana in UK and China.

Here’s official changelog highlighting the new changes:

Improved stability & performance

Imaging enhancements

Enriched display performance

Cortana support added for UK and China

Start screen folders

Customizable snooze for alarm clock

Other usability improvements

The update is available for all Nokia Lumia 930 units even if you don’t have Preview for Developers installed.

It’s also worth observing that the latest Lumia Denim firmware, which Microsoft announced alongside its new Lumia 730, 735 and 830 earlier this month, won’t be coming yet to the Lumia 930.
