Avatar 2: What do we Know so Far About the Release
After so much waiting and anticipation, the second installment of the Avatar franchise will finally see the daylight. Director and producer of the original, James Cameron recently spoke about the upcoming movie, and he has some great news for us.
Seven years after the release of the original Avatar, producer and director of the movie, James Cameron has prepared a sequel for us. Cameron has many reasons for the sequel, because it is well known that the first film had an enormous commercial success, and become the highest grossing movie of all time, so the sequel maybe should come even earlier.
Avatar is the most expensive movie of all time, and it has been created by using advanced technology. Avatar is not the only James Cameron’s big creation, because he is also responsible for the well-known and successful movie Titanic, which was released in 1997.
According to Cameron, the universe will expend in the upcoming movie, and it will include other locations of the fictional universe of Polyphemus, and might as well focus on the ocean of Pandora and the rainforest that was featured in the original movie.
In order to make it up for the waiting, Cameron also stated that the production team is working on the two more sequels, besides the second one. So that means that we’ll get Avatar 3 and Avatar 4 soon after Avatar 2 is released.
Speaking of the advanced technology and delay in the release of the second movie, James Cameron recently revealed that he has been working on the first film since the production of Titanic. More than a decade ago!
The main reason for that was the technology of that time, so he had to wait until the time was right. He also revealed that the upcoming sequels will be filmed at a much higher frame rate, which will definitely be above the industry standard.
Sam Worthington will reprise his role from the original movie, portraying the lead character Jake Sully, along with Zoe Saldana. The Avatar 2 is set to be released on December 2016.
