At this year’s Comic Con, trailer for the new, live-action series, Halo: Nightfall was initially released. Storyline of the upcoming series is taking place somewhere between Halo 4 and Halo 5: Guardians. Halo: Nightfall will introduce a brand new character, famous ONI (Office of Naval Intelligence) manhunter, Jameson Locke, who will probably be the main character of the series.

It is expected that Ridley Scott will be an executive producer of the feature, while it will be directed by Sergio Mimica-Gezzan. Mike Colter will star as Locke, and he’ll eventually serve as a character’s voice actor and motion picture performer in Halo 5: Guardians.

All this promotion of Jameson Locke might mean that 343 Industries want him to be one of the franchise’s signature characters, along with Master Chief, Sergeant Johnson and Cortana.

The plot follows Locke on the task of  investigating a mysterious substance deadly only to humans. The story will of course include a lot of fighting, and recognizable main character’s doubt in loyalty of his allies. Halo: Nightfall should come with the Halo: Master Chief Collection, which will hit the stores on November 11th.

While almost every well established franchise has a wide universe of video games, movies, series, novels, comics, and more, Halo tries to become one of the most successful franchises on that field. Although franchise’s major motion picture never made it to the theaters, the Halo book series is by far the most popular game-based book series ever.

Forward Unto Dawn was also surprisingly good, unlike almost anything else a game developer has produced. Halo: Nightfall definitely has a strong back, and we expect it to succeed, so let us know in the comments what do you think about this new member of the Halo family, and how he fits with other well-known characters of the franchise.
