Vodafone 3G Now Available in Bangalore

Soon after Airtel launched its 3G services in Maharashtra and Goa, Vodafone has launched its 3G services in the Bangalore circle. This is a result of the intra-circle roaming agreement with Airtel, as Vodafone does not have the 3G spectrum license for Bangalore.

Just to remind you, last month we reported that Vodafone, Idea and Airtel have come together to share their 3G networks in order to provide seamless connectivity. Now, Vodafone will also launch its 3G service is other towns and cities in Karnataka in phases over the coming months.

Vodafone India has also disclosed the tariff for their 3G services. Prepaid users get 28MB of data for a day with a recharge of 28 INR and the maximum recharge value available is priced at 4,250 INR which includes 18GB of data valid for 180 days.

There are seven recharge options available between 101 INR to 1,000 INR which include 100MB to 5GB of data, respectively. Excess data usage will be charged at 10 paisa per 10KB and video calls are priced at 3 INR per minute.

If you are a prepaid user, then the plan starts at 100 INR which includes 100MB of data valid for 30 days, while 1,250 INR includes 5GB of data valid for a month. Furthermore, there are quarterly plans starting at 3,250 INR for 6GB, 4,250 INR for 18GB and 6,250 for 30GB, which is valid for 120 days. Excess data is priced at 2 paisa per 10KB and video calls are priced at 3 INR per minute.

The 3G plans will be the same for the 3G dongles.
