Upcoming QNX BlackBerry Smartphone May Run Android Apps

If you are a huge BlackBerry fan, then this may sound really interesting to you. First off, let us remind of the upcoming BlackBerry Colt, which would be the first QNX-based smartphone from Research In Motion. There is still some time for the device to make an official appearance, but a recent report on Bloomberg says that the device may support Android applications, similar to the BlackBerry PlayBook.

Well, this surely is great for BlackBerry devices as along with Android apps and their very own applications, they can have a really good ecosystem. It seems this could be very similar to the upcoming Android Player on PlayBook, which has been previously demoed. The device is expected to launch in early 2012 and we are quite confident that it will include support for Android apps out of the box.
