Tesla Loses Thousands of Model 3 Pre-Orders
The entire world is talking about Elon Musk’s Tesla ever since Model 3 was revealed. This car is a new all-electric four door sedan that’s been designed to appeal to a more luxurious budget range. However, even though the car is quite expensive, Tesla fans don’t seem to be affected by this since the automaker company has already received somewhere around 518,000 pre-orders.
Taking in consideration the fact that Tesla has already received 518,000 pre-orders, people can get an idea how long the waiting line is. The fact that Tesla is not capable of mass-producing Model 3 faster than normal is causing people to retract their pre-orders and ask for refunds.
As previously mentioned, Elon Musk claims that when Model 3 was announced, Tesla received 518,000 pre-orders. However, Elon Musk also announced that people weren’t that keen on waiting a year for their car to ship and cancelled their order and asked for refunds. Moreover, Elon Musk went on and stated that there are “only” 455,000 pre-orders right now.
While it might seem like Tesla is suffering as a result of all of these canceled pre-orders, this is not the case at all. Elon Musk, the company’s CEO put it this way “It’s like if you’re a restaurant and you’re serving hamburgers and there’s like an hour and a half wait for hamburgers, do you really want to encourage more people to order even more hamburgers?”.
As everyone can clearly tell from Elon Musk’s statements, Tesla is not doing bad at all. Despite all of those canceled pre-orders, Tesla is still able to boast with the fact that it has 455,000 pre-orders. Furthermore, people who want to purchase the new Model 3 sedan should know that they will only receive it somewhere around early 2018. In addition, Tesla announced that it’s goal is to be able to manufacturer 10,000 cars per week during the upcoming year.
