Sony Ericsson is expected to launch two new smartphone devices in India on Tuesday. These two smartphones include the Xperia Ray and the Xperia Active, both of which were revealed at CommunicAsia 2011. We are guessing that they would be announced at the IndiaOn conference where there are a few other announcements in place.
Both the smartphones run Android 2.3 Gingerbread and are powered by a 1 GHz processor. The Xperia Ray is a more stylish smartphone, while the Xperia Active is targeted towards sports and fitness fanatics.

The Xperia Ray sports a 3.3-inch display with the mobile BRAVIA engine and reality display. It includes an 8.1 megapixel Exmor R Sony camera with HD video recording and this is one key feature on the device. Other specifications are like every other mid-range Android smartphone.

The Xperia Active has a 3-inch screen with mobile BRAVIA engine and a 5 megapixel camera. It is a dust and water resistant smartphone. It includes finger tracking which allows users to easily use the touchscreen even with sweaty fingers. It will come pre-loaded with a few sports and fitness apps.
We are expecting that the actual date of availability would be announced at IndiaOn, and that they would be priced less than 20,000 INR.
