Pixel 2: Here’s Everything You Need to Know About It
Last year, Google shocked the entire Android community when it decided to retire the Nexus brand and focus on Pixel smartphones instead. While this seemed like a crazy move from Google’s part, it actually paid off in the end since both Pixel and Pixel XL are two of the best Android powered smartphones ever made. With that being said, it’s easy to understand why there’s so much hype about Google’s upcoming Pixel 2. Nonetheless, let’s take a closer look at everything we know about Pixel 2.
The display is a major key selling point to any smartphone. Google knows that too well and this is why it wants to take a page out of Samsung’s book and equip Pixel 2 with thin bezels alongside a 2:1 ratio screen. Moreover, leaks are pointing towards the fact that Pixel 2 will sport an LG-made 6-inch AMOLED panel. These leaks make sense, especially since Google invested $900 million in LG Display.
Evan Blass, who is a known and reliable leakster, claims that Pixel 2 will be fueled by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 836 CPU. This processor is the updated version of Snapdragon 835 and it offers impressive performances with minimal power consumption. Also, worth mentioning is that Qualcomm has yet to unveil the Snapdragon 836 CPU and we don’t know what speed it will clock at. However, we can be sure that it will be at least 2.45GHz because that’s the speed that Snapdragon 835 clocks at.
If the Qualcomm processor doesn’t sound powerful enough, then readers should know that Google will bundle it with 4GB of RAM. Pixel 2 will also be available for purchase in the 32GB and 64GB internal storage space variants. Although, the smartphone’s storage space will also be expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card. From the looks of it, Pixel 2 will certainly take the smartphone industry by storm.
