Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL Leak Shows Large Display Bezels
Even though Google hasn’t even announced the official date when Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL will be launched, pictures of these two upcoming Android smartphones keep leaking every day. Today’s leaked photo shows us how the smartphones look in real life and not in press renders and what’s interesting is that we get to see the design choices that Google made.
The most important thing that we can notice from the leaked picture is that neither Pixel 2 nor Pixel 2 XL will feature a bezel-less display. This is definitely going to anger fans, especially since Samsung’s Galaxy S8 is equipped with the sleek looking Infinity Display. To make things even worse, rumor has it that Apple is also going to use an edge-to-edge display as well.
Google will probably have a hard time facing the competition in terms of design. Let’s just hope that both smartphones will ship with impressive hardware parts which will make us forget about those large screen bezels.
Furthermore, another interesting thing that we can see from the leaked picture is that Google decided to make these flagship smartphones a bit more rectangular than usual. Even though this rectangular shape might not look so good, at least both smartphones still have rounded corners. Nonetheless, Google was forced to change the design and not use the one from last year.
The original Pixel lineup is known for featuring high audio quality speakers. Well, it seems like this is the case for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL as well. The leaked picture shows us that both smartphones will ship with stereo speakers and the way we can tell that is by noticing the speaker cutout both above and below the device’s display. Worth mentioning is that this is quite an improvement over the original Pixel smartphones since they only had one speaker on the top side.
