Nokia 8 Will Be Available for Purchase Starting September

HMD Global took a major risk when it decided to purchase the rights to Nokia and bring the brand back alive. However, the risk seems to payed off since every smartphone that HMD Global launched under the Nokia brand has been successful. Nonetheless, the reason we are talking about HMD Global today is because it finally unveiled a smartphone that’s worthy of carrying the flagship title.

Nokia 8

Nokia 8 was recently unveiled and it is scheduled to launch somewhere in September. The device will be known as HMD Global’s flagship smartphone which means that it is the best that company has to offer in terms of smartphones. Nokia 8 doesn’t disappoint at all since it is equipped with only high-end specs and innovative features.

Android 7.1.1 Nougat

Despite Nokia’s past of collaborating with Windows Mobile, HMD Global decided to go with Google’s operating system instead. In fact, the smartphone’s marketing campaign brags with the fact that Nokia 8 offers a “pure Android experience”. Nokia 8 will run on Google’s latest Android 7.1.1 Nougat and it will certainly be eligible to download Android 8.0 “O” once the final version comes out.

Innovative Features

HMD Global wants Nokia 8 to be known as a special smartphone that’s why it will have its own set of innovative features. One of Nokia 8’s exclusive features is the ability to live stream with both the front and rear camera at the same time. This is why HMD Global patented the term “bothie”, the opposite of “selfie”.

In terms of specs, Nokia 8 will ship with a 5.3-inch IPS LCD panel that’s been coated in Corning Gorilla Glass 5. When it comes to hardware power, Nokia 8 impresses us because it is equipped with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 CPU that’s bundled with an Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB or 6GB of RAM, depending on the acquired variant. From the looks of it, Nokia 8 will be more than capable to compete against the likes of Samsung and Apple.
