Nexus 6 and Galaxy S6 Active Receive August Security Patch from AT&T
We have some great news for Nexus 6 and Galaxy S6 Active owners who bought their smartphones from AT&T official vendors. The network carrier started rolling out its latest August security patch to them. The update comes under the “G890AUCS6DQH1” build number for Galaxy S6 Active and as “N6F27I” for Nexus 6. Nonetheless, the update is being rolled out OTA (over the air) and it should appear in the notification panel any moment now.
August Security Bulletin
One of the greatest things about owning an Android powered smartphone is the number of updates that Google keeps rolling out. The Android parent puts a high price on user security and this is why it launches a new security update every month. While this might seem unnecessary, it actually is quite vital to the Android ecosystem. The internet is filled with hackers and malware around each “corner” and Google needs to keep constantly updating its security.
Even though Google’s team of developer is one of the best in the world, some security breaches still manage to pass by. In addition, hackers are getting more ingenious with each day and these monthly security updates guarantee that Google takes care of them.
We must give props to AT&T for not wasting anytime and for rolling out August’s security patch as soon as possible. Moreover, AT&T needs praise for not forgiving about its older smartphones since a couple of years have passed since Nexus 6 and Galaxy S6 Active were launched. However, we can take this as proof that AT&T is a company which cares about its customers.
Android 8.0 Oreo
Regrading software updates, Google recently unveiled Android 8.0 Oreo. This is Google’s latest operating system and it is packed with innovative features alongside performance enhancements. Sadly, we can’t know when Nexus 6 or Galaxy S6 Active will receive it.
