Facebook Launches Messenger App for Android and iPhone

On Tuesday, the social network giant announced a new application which goes up against some existing messaging applications like WhatsApp, iMessage, BlackBerry Messenger, Kik Messenger and others. This new app from Facebook is called ‘Messenger’.

The Messenger app allows users to instantly chat with their friends, create group chats, share their photos and location. Currently, the application does not integrate with the Facebook Chat app, however it does allow users to access the Facebook inbox messages.

The applications will be available free for Android and iPhone users.
