Beetel Launches new Android Tablet called Magiq

Bharti Enterprises, the guys behind Beetel, have officially launched their very first tablet in the Indian market. Like most of the new upcoming tablet devices, this one runs Android and is called the Beetel Magiq. This offering from Beetel comes hot on the heels of the launch of the Reliance tablet, whom it will most likely directly compete with.

The Beetel Magiq is priced at 9,999 INR and runs Android 2.2 Froyo. Although the mobile OS version is a bit obsolete for a tablet, this device has some impressive specifications for its affordable price. It has a 7-inch display and is powered by a 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Additionally, it includes a 2 megapixel rear camera and a secondary front facing camera of the same resolution. It has 3G connectivity, WiFi connectivity 8GB on internal memory and a 2200 mAh battery.

Bharti Beetel has promised that the tablet will get the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update at a later date. Airtel offers some data plans for the Magiq tablet. Users can avail 2GB of 3G data for the first two months, for both prepaid and postpaid connections.

Apparently, the Beetel Magiq is just a slightly upgraded version of the Huawei Ideos S7 tablet.

  1. This is a Huawei S7 rebranded as beetel. This was being sold in the US last year for about $150. No capacitive screen.

  2. It comes for Rs. 9999, which is 222 $, I think it is perfectly worth the amount. Something I found missing was GPS. I am still looking for the RAM which the tablet has. I would say worth it for the handy spread of education throughout India. And a quality middle class buy, to get in touch with the latest technology.
