Android Jelly Bean now running on 40 percent Android devices

The latest Android distribution stats have been revealed and the new Jelly Bean update continues to grow on mobile devices as it now has 40 percent share of the total Android ecosystem. This is as per the data as of August 1, 2013.

This new data also shares that Jelly Bean currently leads the maximum Android distribution share, followed by Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich at 33 percent and 22.5 percent respectively.

The data suggests that growth of Jelly Bean this month has been slowed by 2 percent against 5 percent as compared to last month. Android 4.3 is the latest version of Jelly Bean and also a recent launch, it is obviously expected to gain share in months to come and leave other version far behind.

When one takes just the new Jelly Bean version into consideration, it seems that the Android 4.1.X version of Jelly Bean holds the maximum share at 34 percent and Android 4.2.X version of Jelly Bean records at 6.5 percent.
