‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 2’ Sequel: What we Know so Far
Great movies possess a charm of leaving their fans in-satiated and subsequently fans look forward to sequels of their favorite movies. The Dawn of the Planet of the Apes which is met with wide critical acclaim is already set to have a sequel that will likely hit cinemas in July 2016.
Matt Reeves, the director of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, is going to return to direct the sequel and 20th Century Fox has reported that Matt Reeves will partner with Mark Bomback ( screenwriter of The Wolverine, Unstoppable and 50 Shades of Grey) to co-write the script.
The Planet of the Apes has become a very important and profitable franchise for 20th Century Fox since its competitors have very potential franchises that stand on par with those of 20th Century Fox. The rebooted Planet of the Apes franchise has reportedly raked in almost half a billion dollars at the box office the world over.
The sequel of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will likely be named ‘Planet of the Apes’ according to the following picture taken at the 2014 Licensing Expo in Las Vegas:
People who are at a loss of the story revolving around Planet of the apes, the story centers on an intelligent ape, Caesar, who spreads the ALZ-113 serum to make other apes as intelligent, and concomitantly wiping out the human race due to the serum’s side effects on humans called the Simian Flu. In the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, the numbers of intelligent apes have significantly grown and are on the verge of a war with the human survivors of the Simian Flu.
According to Matt Reeves, the sequel to the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will immediately follow the story line left in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, implying that the story line of the sequel will probably be somewhat similar to the scenario described above.
Will the sequel to the Dawn of the Planet of the Apes be as successful and riveting as its predecessors? We hope so.
